Mesquite's fourth annual Real.Texas.Festival., April 23 & 24, 2010 at Rodeo Center, promises to be the city's biggest and best yet.
This year's festival features the All Texas music jam concert series headlined by Kevin Fowler on Friday and Cross Canadian Ragweed on Saturday. Texas Tejano legend Ram Herrera is also scheduled to perform Saturday. Other featured events include the Taste of Mesquite BBQ Contest presented by the Mesquite Convention and Visitors Bureau and two thrilling performances on Friday and Saturday night of the world famous Mesquite Championship Rodeo, nominated for "2009 Rodeo of the Year".
Other festival highlights include a fun-filled carnival and midway, Cowboys and Chrome Car Show presented by Hooters, a GOTEXAN Marketplace, an open-air market that offers a variety of hand-crafted and Texas-produced products sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture, and a BBQ 101 class and cooking demonstrations by Troy Black, Championship Barbecue Chef and founder of Learn2Q.com, who also represents Southern Living magazine's BBQ on Tour nationally.

Admission: $12 in advance and $15 at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Ticket price includes one-day admission to the festival, as well as admission to all that day's scheduled concerts, that night's performance of the Mesquite Championship Rodeo, entrance to the Cowboys and Chrome Car Show and free general admission parking.
Festival Hours: festival runs from 3 p.m.-11 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday.
Rodeo: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Headline Concert: 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday
